Overland West Coast– a road trip from Red Deer, Alberta to the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

This was the first time we have used the T4R for a long distance trip and the vehicle comfort, space and ride, despite the new BF Goodrich KO2 tires; made the long distances fall away with ease.

Our stopover was the Monck Provincial Park, 20mins north east of Merritt, British Columbia. It is mapped as Quilchena, BC but this small settlement is actually on the other side of Nicola lake.

It was the first time we’ve visited and we only selected this place as it was around 9 hours drive from home. The view from our campsite was fantastic and the weather glorious as we pitched up. With good, clean amenities and this view we certainly would consider this location as a staging point for future trips.

Our ARB Simpson RTT attracted a lot of attention from our neighbours too! See the install here.
