#Howto …batch sort photos & videos #silentsifter #photos #osx #Mac #apple

Do you have thousands of photos or videos that you need to sort and rename?

If you are trying to manage your photos and videos and are looking for a way to rename, sort and move to a new location, then we recommend Silent Sifter by Vector 15.

We use this as part of a multi-step workflow to manage the large NEF images from my Nikon DSLR.

  1. Identify the SD card in Silent Sifter as the import folder
  2. Identify the output folder on my Mac
  3. Set the file format to manage the folder name and file name of when the image was shot including date and time stamp
  4. Press Start
  5. Silent Sifter will then process the files, naming and moving them in line with my direction and filtering out any duplicates
It’s fast and a huge productivity time saver.
We also Silent Sifter for when we want to manage or move these files from their original export folder relying on the pre-formatting and duplicate filters.
You can download the app from the Vector15’s website here and also purchase the app from the Mac App Store.
