#iPad Pro keyboard repair – free for 3 years

This is good news…

Apple has changed its service policy for the iPad Pro Smart Keyboard providing repairs or replacements for three years after purchase. This is an additional two years beyond the standard 12 months that comes with the product.

This applies to the following commonly identified issues:

  • connection issues
  • unresponsive keys
  • sticking/repeating keys
  • sensor issues
  • magnetic connector problems

This covers:

  • 9.7-inch (Early 2016)
  • 12.9-inch (Late 2015)

I have had these issues (see my previous post) and will let you know if I have any issues with getting my smart keyboard repaired.

  1. It took me a while to determine the serial number of my keypad (it isn’t a good idea to imprint it in felt). When I went to the Apple site and entered the correct serial number, it asked me when I bought it (June of 2016) and told me that it was out of warrantee.

    1. I also tried to get support prior to this announcement and talked to the Apple advisor on chat and got the same answer. I will be trying again soon and will quote this new repair offer.
