So now you have committed to one of the DEVONthink Office products and have decided on a database structure that works for you and your information. The next step is to start using the application in your day to day routines, building the database as the “go to” location for all your information.
Before I committed to DEVONthink Pro Office I researched the various ways to import information to the database both on OS and iOS platforms. The developer’s website has this information detailed but the following provides an overview of the integration that is possible.
The default “plug-ins” include:
- Images (with OCR)
- Notes from Evernote
- Items from Yojimbo
- References from Bookends
- Scanner or Camera
- Clip to DEVONthink (web clipper)
In addition the “plug-in architecture” of the application allows other import modules to be added as your workflow develops and becomes more sophisticated.
The range of import options to impressive as it stands but add to that the ability to “Add to DEVONthink” as part of the Apple share menu, then you have multiple efficient and quick ways to send information to your database.
