#design for cerebral palsy

Ron Rambo was born with Cerebral Palsy…

CP is a group of permanent movement disordes that appear in early childhood and symptons include poor coordination, stiff muscles, weak muscles and tremors. It is caused by the abnormal development or damage to the parts of the brain that control movement, balance and posture.

Ron has started a project called Ramboland to design and build a home that is accessible and functions to support his physical needs that was evidently lacking in the standard accommodation he previously had access to.

This in itself is a significant project and as an Architect I will be interested in how he crafts his personal space to his specific needs but in addition,

With this house we are creating a regenerative water system,  pushing toward radical accessibility, LEED Platinum certification, a no-mow regenerative/permacultural landscape design, on-site energy production, pristine indoor air quality, other occupant health and comfort best-practices, and to the extent possible, using reclaimed, salvaged, and local building materials.
